Harrisons opened for business on 6 May 2003 and is the company of Ann Harrison. We are a legal consultancy specialising in Music and Entertainment Law. Ann Harrison brings to the company over 26 years experience dealing with all aspects of the UK and Irish music and entertainment business.
Based in West London, Harrisons works for both new and established Artists, Managers, Record Labels, Entrepreneurs, Executives, Producers and Publishers.
Legal representation is important for everyone in the music business, whether they are just starting out or have been around for a while as the law and practice changes continuously. We advise and inform you as to what is a fair deal and how to go about getting one; how to protect your rights and how to exploit their potential.
Being a small business enables us to offer the highest level of client contact, allowing us to establish and maintain a good working relationship with all our clients, whether they are established companies or individuals just starting out in the business. We believe it is important to get to know our clients in order for us to understand their needs so that we may advise them on the best way to move forward or develop their careers. We are proud to say that a considerable number of our clients have worked with us for many years, often from the earliest days of their careers in the music industry. It is exciting to watch these careers change and develop.
Music Business Courses is the exciting new venture from two very experienced music business figures: Ann Harrison and Ian Ramage.
The aim of these courses is to provide qualified, practical information about the business in a stimulating small group environment. Our courses are free of academic bureaucracy and will offer a direct and personal insight into how it all works.
We ran our first course which was an Overview of the Music Business on Saturday to a full house of 14 people and the feedback has been very positive.
Our next course is one as part of The Guardian's Masterclasses series which will be held in The Guardian's own building in King's Cross. For details please see their website: http://www.theguardian.com/guardian-masterclasses/music-courses
Subsequent MBCL courses will address specific themes relating to the business of music. We will continue the theme that they will be dynamic, flexible and interactive featuring specialist guests when appropriate.
